Update time

Yes, I am somewhat slack about updating. But such is life. I'm counting down the time I have left before going on vacation for a week. Whooo! This week isn't too bad. I've got my 2 online classes, taught a 1 hour class today and then the yucky part of having lots of Customer meetings. Sigh. I'm really not looking forward to all of the customer meetings since I really don't have a good breakdown of what the project is really comprised of. And of course it's one of those projects where different business areas are impacted differently. It's a whole lot easier to have these meetings when I have a bulleted list and can simply check off the bullets depending on how the business area is impacted. But oh well. Not going to happen this time. Guess we will have to do follow up consults. The bad thing is that this training is for Feb and we really should have started the consults before now and I admit that some of it was my fault with having time constraints, but I didn't have enough info from the project team and not to mention that scheduling any meeting at this time of year stinks.

My online training classes seem to be going alright. I finished up the facilitation class this week but I still have to do a 30 minute teachback at some point before the end of January. The design one is going to be the tough one since I'm not a designer and I will be expected to produce a complete 1 hour training class. When I say a complete class, I'm talking participant guide, class materials, and detailed facilitator guide. Ugh!!! That is going to be a huge time sink because I have no idea what I want to build a class around. As home work assignments we have to design exercises and one of mine got picked to demonstrate to the class for tomorrow's session. Ok, it's not as big of a deal as it sounds since a bunch of other people got their submissions picked. I'm really leaning towards converting a class that I've already taught to online environment.

Faire auditions went pretty well except for how cold the office was. I keep forgetting how the heat doesn't really seem to work there. We had a decent turnout, no one that I looked at and said to myself, "They'll quit after the first rehearsal" and no one that seemed really creepy. So it should be a fun season. People were trying to get me to be a pirate again since we didn't have enough pirates, but no, I like wearing the pretty dress, so too bad.

Gave John his Christmas present and he was surprised that I got him something. Yes, he did get me a present, but he didn't have it wrapped yet, so I'll get it this weekend. He actually had some of it bought a month ago. Call me surprised. But anyway, I got him a little stuffed Opus since everytime he sees mine, he comments that he doesn't have one, though he has lots of Bloom County t-shirts, some beer, some hot sauce and other assorted things. I know I should have gotten him a shirt or something, but I don't know his sizes and I wanted to get him something unique and all that.

Went to the asthma doc and got put on a new daily inhaler. We'll see how that goes. It's VERY expensive, but the Singulair was making my stomach break out so we'll try the new inhaler. I also got put on an asthma plan and whenever my peak flow meter shows up, I'll be checking that twice a day and all that good stuff. No more being in denial about the asthma.

Nothing else too exciting to report. I'm all done with my Christmas shopping, except for getting my goddaughter an extra little gift certificate, but that isn't any big thing. So all is good. Now to tackle Christmas cards...
