Yes, it's been ever so long since last I've posted. Mostly because I keep starting drafts and never sending them. Lots and lots has been going on. So in a nutshell....
Work:
I finished up my month of training right before Thanksgiving. It took about 2 weeks for it to get better. It was indeed very tiring. However, I do have a wee bit of a break until my next set of training in February. However, I still have to do all of my consulting with the business to find out what they need training-wise this week and next. The upcoming holidays will make that process tricky. I'm also thinking that I will have to learn how the Finance area works. As part of my "trying to expand my horizons/job opportunities at work" plan, I'm signed up to take some online certification classes. I'm in the middle of the Facilitation classes which are basically the classes that I already took earlier in the year that we ripped off. So that isn't that bad. But the challenging class is that I'm also taking a Design class and I definitely am not a designer. That should be interesting.
We were delayed in our move to the new building so I am still stuck in the Training Corral sitting next to Humming Man. I have asked him multiple times to stop humming/singing and he keeps doing it. I know it's most likely a nervous tic for him, but when you're sitting less than 3 feet from each other, you'd better learn how to shut up. I really hate this guy. He keeps asking me questions that I can't answer because I don't work on his team and I don't know how his team does things. Guess I need to bring in a picture of me and John and maybe he'll get the hint that I'm not EVER going to be interested. Oh did I mention that he's a leg twitcher and a loud eater?! Ugh, this move cannot happen soon enough for me.
RenFaire:
Still am annoyed with how various components work or rather don't work. But I should know better by now that things really are never going to change. Well, we're getting ready for auditions this weekend. Which should prove to be interesting. We want to take the cast in a different direction this year and reward those who are working hard and not spend as much time on those people who show up and just want to play. If it works out even a bit, it will be a good change and I hope we can keep the momentum going in later years. I'm still deciding on what kind of dress I want to get for this year. I think I've found a design that I really like. I hope I can get my seamstress to be able to duplicate it.
Extra-curricular activities:
Not playing darts this winter season because some of the people that were on my team decided that they wanted to form their own team and didn't ask me if I wanted to join them and Darrell and Anthony were too slow in getting a team put together so that means no regular darts for me. Other than the Ladies Cup team. Oh well. If Darrell and Anthony don't put a team together, it looks like I might have to join another team. I don't really want to do that because all the other teams smoke and that just isn't something I want to be around. Then again, I might just take a break from weekly darts because of the smoke issue. Especially since Marie is of the opinion that my asthma isn't under control an once again, my physical at work had me testing positive for severe 2nd hand and/or regular smoke exposure. Not good. So basically, I'm being really pretty lazy which is what happens to me in the winter anyway.
Fun with John:
Things are still going well with him. Because of him being in class, we only get to see each other about once a week. And I think both of us would like it to be more time, but he's so responsible and wants to get good grades and I'm so responsible and don't want to distract him the result is that we don't get to see each other as much. But on the flip side, we also aren't annoying each other. Took him to a Halloween party at Phil and Amy's so he got to meet my theatre friends. This weekend, he took me to a party with his classmates and it was funny, so many of them kept telling me what a nice guy John was. That made me smile because I know he's a nice guy and it was like some of them were trying to sell me on John. Not that I need any help in that area. Had a very interesting talk with a female classmate of his who he's gotten close too (not in that way) that I would really like to talk to her more. It seemed to me that he had shared some stuff with her about me that I don't know. So anyway, it was a fun evening. I just wish that I could actually spend a weekend with him and not have to worry about doing anything - no school, no work, nothing. Just he and I together. Sigh, dare to dream.
Fun with Family:
Had Marie in town for the weekend right before Thanksgiving. Took her to the Canes-Predators hockey game and the stupid Canes lost. I told her that that was my gift to her and she'd better appreciate that the Canes lost for her birthday. We also marched in the Raleigh Christmas parade that weekend and froze our buns off. All in all, it was a good visit. I really think I need to just keep our interactions down to a few days at a time. It really cuts down on the chances for a fight.
Ok, I think I've typed up enough, time to go back to work.
