Quick update

Dec 07, 2007 14:17

Just taking a few minutes to update before getting to the fun part of
reading processes and making sure they are correct. Doesn't that sound
exciting with a capital "E"? Well, when I start thinking that way, I
think back to 2 years ago when I was traveling all of the time, when my
luggage got lost the day before I was supposed to fly out for Christmas
and all sorts of other inconveniences and I think that reading processes
is just fine with me.

I've also taken care of a few bits of business like updating my address
on my driver's license, finding out how to update the address on my car
registration, ordering Christmas gifts for my sister and trying so very
hard to figure out what to get for my brother. Maybe if he reads this
he can tell me (hint, hint!) Not that I think he reads my journal. I
also need to find something to get for his fiancee. Now it should be
fun finding things for her. (grin). Maybe if she reads this she can
tell me what to get her as well. Mom, I've already got figured out.

I think I will actually send out Christmas cards this year *gasp*.
Since I'm in the new place and not caught up in the drama of starting a
new job, it might be a nice idea to send them out. I'm still up in the
air about doing the cheesy Christmas letter update to put inside. It's
not like I have really lots of things that happened during the year
other than the house, but it might be nice to talk about Ren Faire,
darts and volleyball. I'll probably need to fill the letter up with
pictures to take up space...It is just a thought, but most of my friends
know what's going on with me anyway.

I don't know about decorating the place for Christmas. I do have a
wreath on the door, but I would like to get a better one and I have some
pine garland on the bannister which looks nice and festive when you walk
in. But as for putting up the tree and all my decorations, I'm not
sure. But I think if I get the books all unpacked in the family room, I
can start thinking more about decorating since I'll have the space to.
I admit to being worried that Mr. Felix will look at a tree as a source
of cat toys for him but we will see.

What else? Hmmm, had a fabulous dinner in Greensboro last night with
Ms. Laura. It was nice to have a really good meal and good company. It
made up for the somewhat annoying drive home. I swear Greensboro has
some of the most confusing streets.

Tonight looks to be exciting with more unpacking of clothes and books
to be done as well as breaking in the new kitchen and baking some Kahlua
brownies to bring to our Department Holiday Dinner tomorrow night. So I
will get to use the Kitchen Aid mixer and all that good stuff. And I
have to unpack my dresses so I can find what I'm wearing to the dinner.
I'm also thinking that I will need to pay a visit to Victorias Secret to
find some nice things to go with the dress, especially since I have a
date that night. *wink*

I would also like to go to the Gap sometime and try on their different
cuts of jeans so I can see which one fits me best so then I can order it
online. Since their 36" inseam jeans are only available online. Go
figure. The big boss has allowed us to wear jeans to work in December
and I only have 2 pairs of jeans that I wear regularly so I definitely
need to get a few more pairs. But I think I'm in-between sizes so I
need to figure out what cut suits me. I don't think I really need the
jeans that make your legs look long and slim. It will probably be the
Curvy fit for me. Even though people think I am so skinny, I do have
hips and a small waist and straight cut jeans just don't work for me
anymore. Though I wish the whole boot cut jean would go away, my lower
legs are really skinny and I would like the pant leg to be somewhat
closer to my leg. But at this point, I'll settle for a 36" inseam.

Ok, time to read processes.

holidays, work, fun with friends, fun with food, felix
