Killing time pre-class

Dec 06, 2007 12:17

Well, I'm killing a little time before my 1:00 class starts. Here in
lovely Winston-Salem. The drive out here wasn't too bad, though the
weather is definitely a lot colder than it was yesterday. Ugh! Oh
well, this class should be pretty short (or so I am hoping) since I only
have 3 people. Then catch up on a little more work and then head home.

Of course, I'll be stopping in Greensboro and having dinner with Miss
Laura. Hopefully I will get to meet her cat as well. I'm looking
forward to having a nice dinner that I will get reimbursed for. Always
a plus.

I should do some laundry tonight when I get home. I really must start
making a dent in all of the stuff to hang up and/or put away. I was
going to last night, but I had a really bad headache and just decided to
crash. I don't think Felix minded at all. He liked curling up with me.
Or maybe I will put together my vacuum and really freak out the cat.
Hmmmm, that might be interesting.

Just a quick update on other things going on: Tuesday we played in the
first round of the tournament and well, we lost. But then again, we
were playing last season's champions. However, I thought that we at
least had a shot at it since we won 3 out of the 4 301 games.
Unfortunately, we lost the next 4 cricket games. We tried to win the
601 games and in my game we were really close. Unfortunately, Dave just
was not throwing very well. Though I did hit a Ton-80 for the 2nd time
this season. Go me! A perfect throw. Lots of congratulations went
around. Though it didn't help us win. I tried really hard in Doubles
Cricket, but once again, Dave was just not throwing well. So I tried to
carry the load. Sigh! But it was still fun and the other team wasn't
obnoxious at all so it was fun. Thom came out to the game along with
Tin to be our fans. It's always nice to have a few fans. Thom was also
there to be my protector since the bar we were playing at sometimes gets
some really creepy patrons. That of course, led one of the guys on the
other team to ask if Thom was my boyfriend. Funny considering our
history.

Monday and Tuesday during the day I was here in lovely Winston-Salem
teaching class. They all went well and it was nice to be back in the
classroom which is something I don't do all that much of a times. I
could have done without the drive though.

This weekend are Faire auditions so I have to go and make comments and
provide feedback, that should be fun. What will be fun is Saturday
night we have our Department Holiday Dinner and John is going with me.
I guess that means our relationship is in a slightly different place
than I thought it was? Who knows? But it will be nice to have company.

Then I really will try to straighten things out in the kitchen and the
rest of the house.

Alright, time for me to start prepping for class.

john, work, fun with friends, traveling fun, darts, faire, felix
