That's what happens when you go for one party's primary while acting like a member of the other party It doesn't surprise me that Lieberman lost, what surprises me is that his party put up with him for as long as they did. Basically he's been a reliable Republican vote at least since his ticket lost the 2000 election, and probably was the same way before that time too. Even some Republicans have become sick of this war, so it certainly doesn't make sense for a Democrat to be making a hawkish foreign policy the centerpiece of his campaign. If he runs as an independent then he may very well win, due to the fact that most of his supporters now are probably Republicans and because people always love a familiar name. Of course, if that happens then the Republicans will make it out to be an endorsement of their war policy and we'll end up with an even more screwed up foreign policy.
