So, I have one cat on my lap, doing her best to reduce my bathrobe (and the skin underneath) to shreds, and one cat sitting "death from above" style on top of my computer monitor. Cute, but sort of painful. I'm sure the monitor is nice and warm :)
The household integration is getting better. Lucifer doesn't growl now, but both the little cats do. Ophelia in particular hisses if she even gets a glimpse of him. Of course, she was hissing at Jane too, so maybe she is just nervous. I think Lucifer wants to play, but as you can imagine, a 20-pound cat pouncing a 10-pound cat never looks like play to the smaller cat! He tried last night and scared the crap out of poor Jane. We let both Jane and Ophelia into the apartment at large last night, which went fine except the previously-mentioned pounce and a little hissing. Lucifer mainly sat under the Christmas tree and watched.
Last night was also fun because of the weather. Roads were flooded, and I got halfway to work in barely-moving traffic, only to be told when I called to say I'd be late, that they had canceled the shift and forgotten to call me. Thanks guys, that's 40 min. I could have been using for something else! We kept seeing all these flashes during the howling wind, and it was hard to tell which flashes were lightening and which were transformers! Our power only flashed off a couple times, and a transformer near the building blew at 4:30 AM, scaring someone in the building so much they called the police and fire department reporting an explosion! Clearly, this person had no experience with this :)
