Dave and I always said we'd stay put. We'd find each other months after the fact... just got to find food, stock up on ammo, and find a defensible position... don't do any of the silly movie mistakes.
It's getting late into the day and I'm already tired. Don't over exert myself my ass... I don't think those docs took into account a zombie attack. Flint/Detroit is heavily populated, and things won't be getting any better here. I'm just lucky I'm not in either city, and have backroads and other out of the way ways to get out of here. So I'm going to try my luck with heading up to Houghton. It's isolated and maybe won't be hit as hard. If anything... it's a smaller population. There'll be less to kill.
Jeep's up and running, and it's days like today that I'm happy I've got the damn thing. I figure even with roadways blocked, I can use it to push, pull, and drive through places that a car just wouldn't make due. Plus it's got cargo room for any weapons I can scrounge up before the long trip. That bitch has carried me the past few years... think it'll do, carrying me just a bit farther. One last round before she's done. Just need to remember to stock up on gas cans and fill'm before the power is knocked out... going to need something to make the entire trip.
Melissa should be here soon, to help on the great escape. Hell, someone's gotta literally ride shotgun and help fend off the coming tide. Can't wait for the family or even attempt to find out how Dave's doin'. Just have to think of survival right now...
Internet's still up but power outages have been reported across the state. Heard from
tokyo_18 that Houghton has been hit, but it seems to be doing better now. My bet is that it's only the calm before the storm.
Don't worry fuckers, I'll be up there soon enough to lend a hand. Or put a bullet in your head.
Stay safe. Keep a weapon handy... and check on
