Taster Event
I have numerous doctor friends who have no idea what roleplaying is, let alone what LRP is. I'm thinking about running a taster event for them, probably in a field near me just to give them an idea of the hobby and maybe convince some of them to come to a full event.
It'll be a little strom-esque, the basic concept of discovering a new land and trading with the natives/each other. The rules will be only the very basics, 3 HP, single calls (no mortals) and some basic healing skills. To prevent massive overload I may only tell certain people certain rules, I don't really expect a lot of combat/confrontation so I doubt many of the rules will actually come into play.
I've randomly picked a date of 24th-26th of April, with play taking place on Saturday from 12 noon till 1am Sunday. This is dependant on me actually finding a campsite to hold it in and numbers of doctors who can make it that weekend. I would welcome anyone who wants to come down and join me. You guys will form the heads of smaller groups of people so you can each guide a few noobs through the evenings game and give them advice and hints as to what to do next. Any kit and set dressings you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
This is only an initial post, I have a few people interested but hope to get 30 ish (similar to an average mess night down here) to make it worthwhile. Also I've only just contacted a potential site so it could all still change again. I'll keep you all informed and my fingers crossed that it all works out.
