Maelstrom 1
I'm quite looking forward to a weekend away now even if it does mean I have to drive 4 hours up country to the site this year. Nevermind eh, once we complete our move up to the midlands I wont have to travel very far at all.
My current plans are to leave early on Friday morning. Early could mean very early as Kim will be getting home at 4am from her night shift, alternately it could mean quite late depending on what happens at the mess party on Thursday night. I'm thinking the first is better all round, what with the lack of hangover/drunkeness while driving to drive the aforementioned 4 hours. This means I'm likely to end up on site by 12 noon (pm?), if all goes really well 10am.
I've sorted out my costume, but now I need to have a quick reccy of my camping equipment to see what is still functional, and to make sure the pegs are all still in the bags etc. I'm hoping to make the most of the sunshine this evening to do that in the garden. I probably won't be able to load the car till Friday morning though unless I'm uber organised and do it in the 1 hour gaps between me arriving home with the car and Kim leaving for work with it.
I'm thinking about going swimming on Sunday morning of the event, would be nice to get off site and get clean for a little while. Does anyone remember the location of the long eaton swimming pool? Last time we went I seem to remember it was closed, so I might like to call them up beforehand this time around.
