first day in Cali
so i'm really really tired but i just had to come down and type something up quick about today.
so rest assured that the security at BWI works: it stopped me from taking a pair of cuticle scissors on the plane. they did not however take any of the sharper tools that were in the same manicure kit that i mistakenly packed in my carry-on. and i didnt get put in the cavity search line but apparently a lot of other people going to sacramento did on account of the one-way ticket.
so there were a total of nine or so people that flew from baltimore to sacramento with the stop in vegas. though we didnt all meet each other until we got to the sacramento airport. we added a few more people to our group at each stop.
and there was no free snack on the 5 hour flight to vegas which was really annoying. and the in-flight movie was white chicks. and i took a lot of pictures of the mountains because i had never flown over them before, there may be pictures later.
so today was mostly just checking in. got steel-toed boots, most of my uniform, set up a checking account with Wells Fargo, and that's about it. the ID making machine broke so i couldnt get that. and when i said i got most of my uniform i mean i got 2 pairs of khaki pants, 2 pairs of khaki shorts, 1 short-sleeved polo shirt, 1 long-sleeved polo shirt, 3 short-sleeved t-shirts, 2 long-sleeved t-shirts, a fleece vest, a winter hat, a baseball cap, a belt, a buckle (yes they were separate), and work gloves. they ran out of the black pants, the summer hat, and the hooded sweatshirt in my size.
and that's about it.
i'm bout to go take a shower and crash. breakfast is from 6:30 to 8:00 tomorrow morning. and then it's off to the wonderful land of paperwork.
