This started as a joke version of "Twas the Night Before Christmas." It is shamelessly inspired by an installment of the comic For Better or for Worse I read about week ago. I kept playing around with the first line and now there's a whole story to share:

Well, the trip *really* started on Wednesday, but that consisted of getting on the road and collapsing in the hotel room once we got to Kent, so it barely counts. For all the winter weather warnings, we didn't see any snow until we pulled into the parking lot of the hotel.
