Went to Opera on Friday. I had planed to commute via bus and have vanderbolt drive into the city after work, pick me up, go out to dinner and then to the Opera. But then we remembered that we have a cat who needs to be medicated.
New plan: drive to Seattle for work, drive back to Kent to medicate the cat, ride back to Seattle (eating a piece of frozen pizza that vanderbolt had warmed up for me), sit in terrible traffic (Sonics game), pay $20 for parking, get to the Opera just in time to catch the last 15 minutes of the pre-show lecture.
So that's what happened. Don Giovonni was very good. There were a few moments that I wish were more sinester, a few that I wish had been lighter, but all in all, it was good and enjoyable.
Saturday was a total day of rest. We watched lots of LOST - Season 2 on DVD. I was in pj's all day. We made two loaves of bread in the evening and ate them with a few leftovers. The total relaxation of the day was amazing. I *almost* felt like I was in a bed and breakfast.
Sunday was a partial day of rest. We made the most complicated version of Monkey Bread that is humanly possible...and I didn't like the way it turned out...but vanderbolt did...so that's cool. We also settled our split expenses for November and December and paid my credit card bill that's due Feb. 1 on line.
We went to bed early with the intention of getting up and exercising in the AM. Of course that failed when at 7am (an hour after the alarm normally goes off) I woke up naturally and realized that I had set the alarm for 5:45pm *sigh*. We raced throught he morning routine (including Pounce's medication) and I was out the door late at just after 8.
It's been a slow day at work. Not b/c I have little to do, but b/c I want very little to do it all. Welcome to Monday!
