Unfortunate misspeak

I was watching the Discovery launch this morning, and the CBC announcer said that "By all accounts, this looks like a successful launch of the Challenger space shuttle... er... rather, that is, the Discovery" You can tell where his mind was! That was Challenger, the one that blew up on launch. Columbia's the one that disingrated on re-entry a few years back. They're both space shuttles, and both happened about the same time, so it's easy to conflate the two ( ... )

You're right. My mistake. He did say Challenger. I'm just overtired and typed Columbia. I'll fix that right up. :)

So far, all American deaths in the space progam have occured over about a week in late January and early February.
I was going to say not true, but I checked, and you're right.

Anyway, it took off, then exploded, and I thought that it was supposed to happen like that, that something was going to keep going from it.
I pretty much had the same reaction: Here goes booster sep... wait, wasn't there supposed to be something between the boosters?
