I wonder sometimes how much of the paranoia is true. How far off the mark the suspicions, the distrust and the worry is. Maybe it's all true - how can you really tell when people are telling the truth. But you have to wonder - what would they gain from lying? Yes, some people lie for the sake of lying, sure. But honestly - the majority of people out there only lie for personal gain, and if there's nothing to be gained, what is the point of lying? Maybe some people just get a kick out of hurting others, over gaining some form of control over them and then using it to manipulate them. Maybe some day they'll change their mind, and realize how stupid it all was. Or maybe they've forgotten about it, and don't ever think of it at all. But you hope the opposite is true, because if they don't care, then why should you?
I don't even know what this is about. I'm just tired of being me. I mess things up. A lot of things. I usually don't regret things. I try not to, because you can't change the past, so why bother worrying about it? But now wonder what would happen if I could go back in time. And if I did, would I disregard those cautionary tales of time travel and change the things that I'm starting to regret, or would I do them anyway, because at the time they were fun? Well, most of them were fun, anyway. This is pointless, so I'll stop now. I just kind of want to start over, redo it all. A clean slate, to be cheesy. University is in a few months, which means new city, new people, new everything. Which, while it's exciting and certainly seems desirable at this point, is also scary as hell. Because I don't really want to leave the things that are going alright. But hey - who knows how long those will last anyway?
