Even more stuff than is listed on today's page happened this week. I went to see my neurologist; nothing is going on that should interfere with getting a new hip (hooray)! Eagerly looking forward to meeting the surgeon as the pain can make sleep impossible.
I spoke with my mom last night while she told me she'd packed up her entire house and had signed the paperwork for the lease. After texting with my sister, this turns out to have meant she signed the paperwork that grants my brother the Power of Attorney for selling her house and that she spent the day with Rob and his wife sorting through stuff in her basement. My sister says there is a ton of stuff down there and they are by no means done. That makes a whole lot more sense than what my mother said. KC and I (and our spouses) are still on for meeting up on August 20th to continue with emptying the house and getting it ready to sell.
The jazz band rehearsal was fun and they sounded good. A number of Mike's neighbors came out with their lawn chairs and sat and listened to the band. I sat in shade and worked on my guild's latest charity project, which is adding a hand-knit border to a machine-knit baby blanket. This is a win on several fronts as knitting the only border is a lot faster than knitting the entire blanket and as the machine knit part is white, it also used up a lot of the white yarn in our vault of charity knitting yarn. Having knit at the rehearsal, at the anniversary party, at Monday's final FCB concert of the season, and at the Guild's 4th Tuesday meeting, I'm three-quarters done and hope to be able to finish the blanket on Thursday when the Jazz band plays at Heritage Park.
Meanwhile, we're still in trouble with the city over the state of our yard. What with everything going on (and I haven't mentioned that Jebra's going off to work a security gig this weekend, and the next he's going north to babysit his folks while his brother is in Dallas for a business thing, and the following I see KC and then the next he's in Indiana for Indyfurcon. So much for being able to do a ton of yard work during the month of August), there just hasn't been a lot of time to work on it. We filled another pair of yard waste bags and that was all there was time to do. We can't work on it tonight as he'll be getting ready for the jazz concert and this weekend's convention.
I'm sure there was more I intended to blather about, but whatever it was has disappeared from my mind and I'm exhausted from recounting all of the above.
