Niantic, the company behind Ingress, has succeeded in pissing me off. Google helped me find a way to contact them but it was all for naught. The responses ranged from "we don't know," to "we won't tell you" and finally to "bothering us about getting the ban lifted only serves to convince us we were right in the first place." *sigh* I honestly don't know why my account was flagged for a ban nor what I could have done to trigger one. And if I don't know, how will I know I won't get a permanent ban when I haven't been doing anything against the rules? I don't have multiple accounts, I don't spoof GPS locations, I don't harass other players or break any of the rules specified as reasons for being banned. I'll probably resume playing after 30 days but my love for the game has diminished significantly.
On another topic entirely, I have a surgery date! If all the preliminary stuff goes well, I should be getting a new hip on September 8th. New x-rays were taken when we met the surgeon yesterday and it no wonder my left hip hurts. The joint is bone-on-bone and the ball of the joint is not at all smooth. I suppose that also explains why I often hear popping and feel a ratcheting sensation.
There is no mom news this week as I was a lazy bum and didn't call her over the weekend and she isn't answering her phone this afternoon.
Speaking of this past weekend, I spent all of it at home. Thursday the Jazz Band played at Heritage Park while I knit and listened to the music. Friday morning Jebra left for Pittsburgh and a convention he was working. Fiona and I were home alone the entire time (if you exempt Zoom calls, which I do). I thought I'd leave the house on Sunday to teach a friend how to knit but those plans were scuttled by a family emergency on her part. We're going to try again later.
Jebra returned to the house late on Sunday.
Last night before returning to weeding the yard we went to vote in the Primaries and vote on the Library's millage renewal. I was happy to see the renewal passed with a good margin. That gives me a bit of hope that the entire world hasn't been consumed by greed and stupidity.
