Just as I believed that my feelings about Jose's party were solely my own, I discussed the matter with my friend Josh, who was also at the party, and he seems to agree with me. We both noted the immaturity, and general disconnect between us and Jose's girlfriend and her posse.
But the important part of this post isn't that Josh agrees with me. It's that I was right about something else. Something that I couldn't quite put my finger on when I met those people but what I suspected by their behavior.
They do indeed come from extremely wealthy families.
That explains it all.
After hearing that, it's almost too obvious to miss.
I don't think people who are born from any sort of wealth above the lower-middle class are worth talking to. I find their lack of compassion for the troubles of life fucking annoying, and their abundance of wealth versus their lack of intelligence disturbing.
Of course you can afford to live in a dorm and fuck around with any old friend you don't really give two shits about - you have nothing to lose. Mommy and daddy got lots of cash, what do you really care?
People who have that sort of wealth, in my opinion, never learn what it is to disappoint someone by their lack of progress in any venture, because they never have to succeed at ANYTHING. Plus the fact that they live in a house with rooms they never go into and get expensive cars to drive in and scoff at people who eat fast food is all a plus because what the fuck do they care? They have it great but its never enough is it?
They are just like celebrities. Not real people. People who are missing some fundamental parts of character, like humility, and reserve, and having to grow up poor, only to see some fucking morons be born into a life one could only dream of.
