Halloween 2008
This year I was able to take my children trick-or-treating.
Son dressed up as a Lightning McQueen race car driver. Daughter dressed up as a princess.
We did trick-or-treating for about an hour, then son became tired, and we dropped him off back home. Daughter was able to go trick-or-treating for two hours. We went around the block of Pasqual Avenue, Sycamore, and Bridge streets.
Lauren and Brooke even joined Julia and I for a while. Their dad works at home, and we did guy small talk.

I am suprised to see just how green I am and frugal compared to some people I know.
My electric bill averages about $60/month. His is $300/month. We drive a Jeep Cherokee 5spd 4.0L 6cyl that gets 15 to 20mpg, he bought a new Sequoia and says he gets 9mpg.
So, I tried to be friendly/supportive and not sound smug. Tried to suggest maybe getting double pane windows, and look into having the walls insulated with blown in insulation, as both might be just the cost of a few years at $300/month for electricity.
