Father's Day 2022
Mother Nature was kind: was a beautiful day in the San Gabriel Valley. Mid 80s tempurature. Nice breeze. Blue skies. Not too humid or dry.
The outside world seemed quiet. Street seemed quiet. Felt relaxing at home. Decided to stay home, and just "be."
Ordered
Lucille's BBQ via delivery, for yummy Father's Day BBQ food.

My children are at the stage where they want to be the story tellers, and I be their audience. So, I try being selfless, and listen, and not try to then "take a turn so they listen to my stories."
My son talked to me about his music interests for about an hour. A recently released album he was listening to. I listened and nodded, and was supportive.
Got a heartfelt and long hug from my Oldest, with a sincere "Happy Father's Day!"
So, for the times I want to share stories and try to "pass down" my own stories and observations to them, perhaps this LJ will be a way for me to exercise that impulse.

For my Oldest: "The hardest thing in Life is to follow all the Rules." She's in college now, and learning and exploring "adulting." She knows all the things to do, but my goal is to keep encouraging/reminding that now that she is learning all the "what to do's" that now the hard part is trying to do them all: eat right, good sleep, school/social life balance.
