Like the famous Minetown merchant says: "Slow down. Think clearly."

I get impatient/bored, then start doing moves too quickly. This is my most often cause of Adventurer death. It's frustrating.

Self-reminder: Only do about one Adventurer move per second. Slow enough to scan the level for any changes, before making another Adventurer move.

Sometimes the timing of system failures does not feel random.

There is never a "good time" for something expensive to fail. Some times of the year are more stressful than others.

The garbage disposal failing during the above two month period was more financially painful, than if it had happened during the summer, or even just a month earlier, ( Read more... )

The kitchen garbage disposal stopped working.

At first I thought it was just jammed. But after getting the grinding wheel to slowly spin using a long wooden spoon handle, turning on the disposal just created an angry humming sound, and no rotation.

So, time to replace it.

The disposal is connected to the drain with two 10mm bolts.

Science Fiction. Enjoyed it.

Starts off okay. Becomes a page-turner where I didn't want to put it down once they find and enter the alien dreadnought.

I am thankful My Little Family are all safe. Healthy. Seemingly content.

I am thankful my Mom seems to be doing okay. Still independent. Healthy. Safe.

Zombieland Rule 32: Enjoy the Little Things

I have to laugh at my own human nature.

Happiness restored. It didn't take much, either. Just "the win" of fixing the clogged kitchen drain has boosted my spirits.

I am just like the character of the song, "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh (A Letter from Camp)" it seems! (thankfully)

Removed all the stuff under the kitchen sink. Used a shop light and extension cord to examine the drain pipes under the sink.

The pipes are white plastic, that is translucent and can be seen through if I put the shop light behind them. Visually inspected all the pipes under the sink, could not see a clog.
