This is why I should never tell anyone about the goings on in my life. :) Yes, we're taking a step back from this whole relationship thing, and I've gotta say that I'm more than happy with that. I may have just been by myself for too much of my life, but a single other person just throws me out of whack. Here's a recent and not-so-recent thought I've been having about this.
There are four pillars to any relationship:
* Emotional
* Sexual
* Intellectual
* Financial
Pretty much, you've gotta have sexual and at least one other. It's kinda unfortunate for my would-be girlfriends that I have such great friends to cover my emotional and intellectual needs, which leaves only sexual and financial. How I'd make myself financially dependent on her is an interesting question. So pretty much she's on the back foot from day one unless she's so totally crazy and simultaneously amazing that I'm overwhelmed.
Here's hoping.
