No, I don't have time to write this entry, but I am anyway.
Flippin' heck, I'm busy! One day I'll have time to myself again.
I've ordered my kitchen. All sorts of last minute things had to be done so they'd get things right, but hopefully what I've supplied them is enough. Apparently my rangehood is an odd size and that required verification. It all added to the time I just didn't have spare.
Haircut and coffee with
scarlet_r on Thursday. I am now much blonder, and not from the hot chocolate. I'm wondering if I should really find somewhere closer that'll do as good a job at a reasonable price.
On Friday I thought I could just go to see Kevin Smith's Q&A after work, but instead I was sent out to work at NEC in the morning. Fine, I thought, I'll get this working and then go back to the office afterwards. Then I had frantic emails and phone calls telling me that I'd be staying there all day to work on a last minute project that had to be finished for a demo on Monday. Needless to say they want all sorts of features that we don't have and I'll be spending Sunday in the office trying to get it all ready. That's right, I'm working Sunday.
Anyway, I had to rush from Mulgrave, quickly get changed and pick up my ticket from home and drive to the Astor in Prahran (about 10 minutes from the office) and stand in a line that went right round the corner. I thought I wasa fair way back until I saw how many people arrived later than I did. My friends said they'd arrive at 6:30 and I should save them seats. I expressed the unlikelyhood of this being possible as there were four of them and one of me. Lying across 5 seats... not really possible. I got to chatting with some other people in the line. When the line started moving, it was suggested that they were just making us move around the block and nobody was actually going inside.
I really enjoyed the film. It was a little predictable, but sweet (in a Kevin Smith kinda way). The Q&A afterwards was very funny and refreshingly honest. Not many directors will speak of their friend's heroin addiction and rehab for 20 minutes, lacing it with jokes and then launch off into a spiel about why he should not be the person to direct movies. I was going to leave at 11pm with my friends, but we all decided to stick around for more Kev. I left at a little before midnight, and I'm sure he went for another coupla hours, but I was falling asleep in my chair and was getting to a state of not believing I was really there.
*waves* to
hipichic and Alex, who were sitting quite close to me, even though I never got to speak to them. Also saw a friend of mine from uni there.
This morning was the squash AGM. I've been re-elected secretary and been given new responsibilities... We'll see how that works out. I also played for a coupla hours and I've managed to tear the callous on my right foot. I'm sure you wanted to know that.
Tonight, I'm off to
wordynerd's housewarming and I've done squat about organising any form of present. I hope she'll survive without.
Ugh... and all the things I haven't yet done!
