Right. So. Saying Parker had spent all day glaring at the phone would be a lie. But even though she didn't look at it much, the phone probably felt glared at.
Sunday had started out okay, although the
Teal Monstrosity had been delivered, and she should've taken that as an omen. Or Weiss being
sick and unable to go to the Halloween party with her. That should've tipped her off. It had started out okay, with the
casino room, and ... someone watching her. Then she'd talked to
Mr. Phale and
Dr. Wilson before
dancing on the roof, alone at first (and again, being watched by someone who almost approached her) then with Booth. Chatted with a
few other people, and looked for the mysterious cute guy.
Then it had all gone to hell when
Isabel told her that her shadow was-- Jarod. Who hadn't wanted to say hi. Or leave a phone message. Or warn her he was back in town. Or anything. She'd come home as soon as she could, and after leaving a
phone message for Xander, gone up to the roof to smoke-- only she'd run into
Daisy, thrown a tantrum, and thrown the cigarettes away. Not a good night.
She'd spent a lot of today powering through her homework, and planning various things other people whose opinions she didn't care about wouldn't approve of. Finally fed up with her room, she left another
message for Xander, threw on a jacket, and headed for the beach.
