I just wanted to give a quick welcome to all my new friends that I met through the Law and Order: Criminal Intent friending meme over at crim_int_fans. Hello an_autumn_haze, aprilspring320, atlashrugged, defy_n_gravity, sisterelwood, sweet_pea_11 and tulip_leaf. *waves* I look forward to reading your journals. I promise future posts about the show and Goren and Eames.
But tonight...I'm dedicating my posts to anything that has to do with the Oscars!!!!
I've always loved the Oscars. I think I just enjoy seeing people win awards, especially when the awards are film related. I realize that the people who win Oscars are not always worthy, but the controversy that results from these instances are what make gossiping and predicting the Oscars so much fun. :)
Random Comments:
*Martin Scorsese better win an Oscar. Finally. More than anyone else, I hope he wins tonight.
*"The Departed", in my opinion, is the best film of the year. Therefore, I hope it wins Best Picture and Best Adapted Screenplay.
*Some big surprise wins that would make me happy: Ryan Gosling and Mark Wahlberg (the first because he's a fellow Canadian, the second because he's adorable and has come a long way as an actor).
*Please, please, please don't let Jennifer Hudson (this is not the Grammy's) and Eddie Murphy win. There is no way they are more talented than the other actors in their category.
*I look forward to the musical montage they will do for Ennio Morricone's Honourary Oscar.
*Here's hoping Ellen DeGeneres is a solid host, although I doubt anyone could ever beat Billy Crystal.
