Weekend of Distractions

Feb 22, 2007 23:22

Despite the overload of essays that I have due within the next month or so I'm very much looking forward to this Weekend of Distractions.

FRIDAY: Tickets to "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Princess of Wales theatre. I haven't seen this play since 1994, so even though I love the music I barely remember how it looks onstage. I can't wait to hear the music and witness all the stunning set pieces and costumes. Ah, I love the theatre.

SATURDAY: Big birthday bash for my grandpa (who turns 83). A whole bunch of family eating at a really yummy Italian restaurant. I plan to get a little sloshed, I think. ;)

SUNDAY: Well, it's the Oscars, of course. While I tend to see it as more of a popularity contest than a real indicator of the "best in the business", I still love seeing people win awards. This year should be good, everything is so wide open.

*Ideally I should get back to working on homework but I think I will retire for the evening and focus on watching reruns of "Law and Order: Special Victim's Unit" and "Criminal Intent". I have a newbie-addiction to both shows, what can I say?

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

homework, law and order, weekend, the phantom of the opera, special victim's unit
