* Got to go to my second baseball game of the year on Tuesday night! It was a gorgeous night and the Mariners beat the White Sox. We were in nose-bleed seats, but we were right above home plate and had a perfect view of the entire field. We also got the free geek crossover t-shirts we were wanting. (This is the eponymous Michael Morse of the shirt.)

Also glad it did not go 16 innings like yesterday's game. I love baseball. Six hours is a wee bit much, though.

Your random baseball fact for the day: Kyle Seager is now the only person in MLB history to get a game-tying grandslam (four run) homerun in extra innings.

* I was, unfortunately, down for the count yesterday, but managed to put on real clothes to go watch game 3 of the Pens/Bruins playoff round. Ugh. On the one hand, I was happy to see the Pens play more like they have the whole season, and holding on until second OT was commendable. I just wish it had been a win.

Still holding out hope that they'll pull through in Game 4 (and future games) on Friday.

* I heard a piece on this story last weekend on NPR, and it just made me feel all "Yay" about one small part of a terrible, ongoing story: York Mosque Protest Met with Tea and Biscuits. The background, if you haven't seen anything: a soldier named Rigby Lee, just home from a tour in Afghanistan, was brutally murdered with butcher knives on the streets of London in broad daylight by two men saying they did it to protest Britain's presence in Afghanistan. Since then, there have been firebombings and numerous other attacks and protests at mosques and cultural centers all around England, especially from a group which calls itself the English Defence League (EDL).

The mosque learned there was a protest being organized at their mosque and responded accordingly.

* Season 2 of Person of Interest to be released September 3rd on DVD/BluRay.

* Final Man of Steel trailer. Ready!

* Bryan Singer Tweets Magneto photo. Ready for this one, too, though it's not ready for me yet.

* New stills from Thor: The Dark World, which includes Christopher Eccleston's Malekith. Not that you'll know it's him.

* RIP Esther Williams. I loved Neptune's Daughter when I was a kid, and I think it was the first thing I ever saw Ricardo Montalban in, as well. Might have to track down a copy.
