You know, I like my jobs pretty well, but I am so looking forward to the two weeks I'll be out of town and will not have to come to campus every freaking day.

Also, you might think that a 600 page book about Kuan-yin in China might give an approximate date for when Kuan-yin began to be worshipped in that country, but you would be wrong.

Apparently I haven't acquired enough merit to get this paper on Kuan-yin off the ground. I think I'm going to have to narrow my focus to just an analysis the role of the legend of Miao-shan in the feminization of Kuan-yin. Which is less work for me I guess, but I wanted to be impressive. :\ Oh well.

Oh man, so I totally wasn't ready when I walked into my Thai oral exam and she told me to start talking. I had to ask her what I was supposed to be talking about.
