It starts soon…
TO ALL OF MY DEARS
How many days has it been since I stopped the Okinawa entry…
Even though I try not to be swayed by the frantic pace of everyday life,
it’s a problem that I’ve started sleeping only one hour a day.
Well, that doesn’t mean I’m not enjoying myself.
Because even with times I like this, I try to live like every moment is interesting.
Weekly, I’ve been finishing up production for the play, the YFC breakup live, anime voice acting, and drama photographing.
This was taken after a break when photographing was finished.
Pictured next to me is Hide from Tokuyama. He was with me in the NEMURI play too so we spent time together every now and again.
“It’s been a long time, huh…” we chattered even as the shoot was busy.
For the last few days, the shooting was tied into my overcrowded schedule
so it went on and on with barely any breaks.
But the staff got even less breaks than I did.
The filming set is pretty harsh.
Mostly all of the staff is exhausted with the continuing photographing.
It’s a job you can’t do without pride or without liking what you do.
It’s a serious job that demands physical strength and emotional strength, and sometimes you make yourself look dumb.
When working surrounded by the staff,
it’s natural to feel like I need to work harder,
and I started to feel like I need to keep going
with this kind of schedule.
That being said,
every day for two weeks I couldn’t eat anything past one in the morning.
But I always ate together with KAZUYA, who stayed strong until the end.
He’s a big deal.
At this point in the play, there’s an abundance of dancers who will be performing.
KAZUYA is also affiliated with the play’s production so it’s not being done like a regular play,
and it’s rough on him, too.
But he never complains to me.
I guess it’s because he knows that whatever kinds of words you say,
they won’t fix the problems at hand.
Even during a meal we while exchanged an enjoyable conversation,
it would end up with me dozing off while holding my chopsticks.
Ahahahahaha.
Cilantro man About ten years ago,
I got a lot of offers to direct movies, but I didn’t want to do that
so I always turned them down.
You can’t compare directing a movie to directing the production of a stage play;
it’s a harsh position.
Budget managing, facing the actors, staff care…
“The present me is still not ready for it…”
I kept on refusing.
The older I get,
the more I find myself having respect for the expressionist Takeshi Kitano.
It’s not because he created so many works,
but more than anything else,
it’s because his work with directing simultaneously came before so many other jobs
that the word “harsh” can’t even begin to cover it.
He really is a great man…
Now with Yoshitsune Hiden, I’m doing everything.
The leading role, production, the original story, the script, the fighting choreography, and things like that,
but if I were to be directing a movie,
I can only imagine that I’d have a lot more work to do than I do now.
Wah~~… It’s scary.
Anyway. No matter how tired I get, I persuade myself.
“Do everything that must be done in order to make the play a success.
It’s because you can do all of it as well as recording, the drama, and movie photography that you’re top-class…”
Some time ago, play production finished earlier than expected.
When I changed into my own clothes and went around greeting the staff and actors, someone said to me,
“It’s settled, right? Where are you going to?”
“No, I’m going home. I’ve got other things to do,” I replied.
“I thought you were going out since you’re all dressed up like that.”
I replied like this:
“No matter how busy you get, if your regular clothes become untidy or slacked, then you’re not a cool person. There are people that neglect how they look just because they’re busy. So it’s important that you always support your heart by keeping your personal appearance in check.”
I always thought this was important from a long time ago.
In this way, if your appearance is rough all the time because you’re not comfortable,
then your body will definitely crumble.
Your heart will become lenient.
Besides, being ready to have fun whenever
is like carrying a sword and being able to fight whenever.
The samurai never left their swords behind thinking, “Today will be fine…”
“Let’s go get dressed up. Let’s go.”
This is a very important thing.
Keep a sword within your heart and be prepared to draw it at any time.
Maybe this is the spirit we have to protect as Japanese people…
Well, I think it is.
If you ask someone living with that belief what work is, they’ll say,
“Players!”
Kin from Tooyama can answer that perfectly.
Aim here.
Occupation, players.
Well then, from today I’m going to check the play production
and when I settle down from finishing that, it might be morning…
Yeah, it’s somehow great~~~!!!
I’ll do my best.
