The sunsets are earlier now.  They come and go so quickly that I often miss them…..but last night, I didn’t!   Here’s the view from our driveway through the trees across the street.

It is cold here, at least by Florida standards.  Fifty degrees when I get up in the morning!  And we're lucky if we get up into the 60s for a high.   But, this weekend we're getting warmer weather.  So yay for that ( Read more... )

My old friends are back!  When I walk down to get the mail each night I always look at the trees across the street to see if the osprey mates are there.  Lots of times I would hear their familiar chirp, chirp, chirp, but they must have been in another place hidden from my sight because I haven't seen them in many weeks.   Recently, I happened to ( Read more... )

I heard my spotter (Pete) call me from the front room tonight. He said that I'd better get out there or I'd miss the sunset because it was fading fast. I grabbed my camera and went out the front door and saw the most spectacular sunset so far of this year, at least from our front yard.

A little before 9 p.m. I walked into the front room to find it bathed in an orange glow.   When I went outside there was a beautiful orange sunset on the horizon, then a bit of blue sky above it.  But what really got my attention was straight up over my head, and all around me to the south, west and north, was a brighter more brilliant orange that ( Read more... )
