car woes
Oy. I just found out the head gasket on my car is busted, probably a $1,000 repair. Plus I already knew I needed a new radiator, for a few hundred dollars more. This car is a 1984 model, I've already replaced the timing belt and was hoping to keep it on the road for a few more years. My mechanic says it's probably worth it to fix this car, I certainly can't buy another car for that money and the rest of the car is pretty solid (and the body is not rusted, which is major). I've been putting money into savings every paycheck for 3 years, so I have the cash even though it kills me to dip into savings.
I hate that I need a car, I've tried to make my life as local as possible but I still can't get by without a car. The biggie is Twilight Covening this weekend. I need to get there early, and for sanity's sake need to be able to leave when I'm ready. Probably will need to rent a car this weekend. Ugh.
