Between spending a week in Colorado visiting my father and then coming back home to the NHL playoffs (GO HABS GO!) and my husband's business completing a significant expansion, I've been sadly remiss in keeping up with LJ/DW. However, I am back.

Re: The Americans and Matthew Rhys, I have the same problem as you. I watched the first 7 or 8 episodes and I should love it, but I don't. I was a bit ashamed of my shallowness, but there it is. That's too bad, because the spy stuff and the angst about the agent who really fell in love with his wife should be right up my alley, but meh.
When Matthew Rhys was remembering the first time they met, and told her that he was relieved she was so pretty, but that he knew she was kinda disappointed when she saw him, it was objectively heartbreaking, but it didn't do much for me because I was thinking: "That sounds about right. I would have been disappointed too, you don't exactly inspire passion." I'M NOT PROUD OF IT. But I don't feel like watching the rest because I don't like his face.
