Between spending a week in Colorado visiting my father and then coming back home to the NHL playoffs (GO HABS GO!) and my husband's business completing a significant expansion, I've been sadly remiss in keeping up with LJ/DW. However, I am back.
Five things about TV:
1) Got my father hooked on Justified, the first three seasons of which are streaming exclusively on Amazon Prime Instant Video. Every time we see each other, he expects me to introduce him to good, new-to-him TV. Past successes include BSG and Game of Thrones. So, Justified? Major success. Turns out Dad likes Elmore Leonard, but had no idea there was a show based on some of his work.
2) It's great fun to watch GoT with Unsullied viewers. They get to ask me questions (which I will answer if it won't spoil them) and request clarification, and I get to point out things they've missed (Ser Jorah being the son of Lord Commander Mormont of the Night's Watch, for example) and be amused by what they're certain is going to happen and quite soon. Hah! GRRM is a cruel master, dear Unsullied. Sometimes you have to settle in for the long haul. The very, very long haul.
3) Sadly, I'm just not feeling Doctor Who these days. It's become more of an obligation than a pleasure. Clara seems very nice, but I feel that the show is just spinning its wheels at this point. I am glad to finally be shot of Rory, though, so there's that at least.
4) Still haven't watched the last four episodes of The Americans, although I'm sure we'll get to it at some point. If only I found Matthew Rhys even remotely attractive.
5) Also waiting for me on the DVR: The first three episodes of Defiance (looks cheesetastic - I hope in an entertaining way), the last two episodes of The Following, the last three episodes of Vikings (certain things I know are going to happen make me want to break things and set them on fire!), the first two episode of The Bletchley Circle, and Spies of Warsaw. All caught up on my other shows.
