"I told General Mahmud that this was a time that Pakistan would either be with us or against us. That this, for Americans, was seen as black or white therefor he would be with us or against us."
Richard Armitage

I'm going to comment very little on General Mahmud's actual accusation because there is very little information out on the subject at this point. But I will say that if this turns out to be true, somebody had better be fired. Oh wait. Hmm. I don't think it really warrants an arrest, but that's debatable. I dunno. You know how we did that whole congressional bit to say that the troops are great? Maybe we can do something like that to say that Richard Armitage sucks balls.
What really concerns me though is this "with us or against us" bullshit. I've spent a very small portion of my life living in a dictatorship. I've spent the rest of my life learning about other dictatorships, and I've come to a conclusion; I hate dictators, and anything that reminds me of a dictator sends a chill up my spine. This "black or white" shit is right up that alley. Now obviously the attitude has diminished significantly since the day when Richard Armatage, alleged ball sucker, claims to have made the statement. But it's still way too present. So if there's anyone out there who shares that sentiment, I can't make you change your mind, but I should mention that from what I've seen, it's a very dangerous way to think.
And I want to make it clear that I am not calling Bush a dictator. I may do so if he somehow prevents a presidential election in 2008. But at this point I think it's safe to say that he is not a dictator. He's just a terrible president. And a liar. And a hypocrite. He's stubborn, possibly corrupt, probably smelly, he has a stupid face and there's an off chance that he pulls his pants all the way down to pee. But my point is, he's not a dictator.
