Liberals don't think Alito is really all that neato.

If you want to get an abortion, now would be the time to do it. Get em now before all the good ones are gone. RVW is gone. It's only a matter of time. You know what that's going to mean? That means that if a woman wants to get an abortion, she's going to have to grab a clothes hanger, take her jacket off of it, and drive to the nearest state that allows abortion.
Who gives a shit?
Now lady, whatever reason you have to do this is none of my business. Hopefully it's worth it, but again, that ain't my call. However, lets be frank here; you are killing a baby. I mean, your reasons are your own, but don't start complaining about how inconvenient it is. If liberals are really worried about this, start a charity that will fly women to where they can have it done.
I don't really have any beef with Alito. I mean, it's not really fair to call him a wing nut. He obviously leans to the right, but he seems to be very reasonable on alot of things. Plus, he's one of them Judges, which I hear is a good qualification for the Supreme Court.
"This is a needlessly provocative nomination. Instead of uniting the country through his choice, the president has chosen to reward one faction of his party, at the risk of dividing the country."
-Sen. Pat Leahy
What the fuck? This is what I think is going on; when Bush nominated Miers, America was baffled. Nobody saw that one coming. So when she "withdrew her nomination", the logical thing to say was, "Now he's going to appoint his wing nut." But you couldn't say that, because who the hell knows what he's going to do. So it seems like, in this state of uncertainty, people started thinking, "Maybe he'll elect Bill Clinton just to swerve everyone." And this frame of mind grew to the point where when he nominated his wing nut (although I wouldn't really call him that), liberals went, "WHAT!?!?! A WING NUT!?!?!?"
You think Kerry would have elected a moderate? Of course not. He would have elected someone who thinks like he does. A hardcore, extreme, headstrong, on the fence, don't make waves pussy.
So lets stop pretending. Lets stop pretending Bush has any sense of obligation to the left. It was very clear by 2004 that the whole compassionate part was bullshit. Lets stop pretending that everyone who isn't a centrist is a wing nut. He's conservative, no doubt about that, but lets not forget what a wing nut is. (See Pat Robertson) And finally, lets stop pretending this guy isn't going to jump right into his seat. I mean, getting in is easy enough, and this guy is replacing Miers. He can't fuck it up.
In fact, this whole thing may end up being the most brilliant political strategy since Common Sense. Pick someone who will piss everyone off, wait until everyone's nice and pissed, and then withdraw the nomination. You can get anyone in after that. You can get Judge Judy on the Supreme Court if you want to. Hell, at least she's a judge. You thought Roberts' baseball analogy was silly, wait til Mills Lane gets up there. I'm not really one for conspiracy theories, but you have to admit, this is about as plausible as any other theory about Miers. I mean seriously, what the fuck?

Have a nice day. :)
