I think one of my absolute favourite obscure fic genres would have to be Mornington Crescent fic and I've just been linked to rather lovely perfect example:

The Goodge Street Gambit and the Controversial Non-Holmesian Principle by definewisdom
Lestrade and John play a game of Mornington Crescent, Sherlock tries to work out the rules.

I'm currently wishing I'd bookmarked previous variations on this theme, it would make a rather charming little archive *g* If anyone has any to hand I'd be grateful for links (I'm pretty sure there was at least one HP version and I know I read a Good Omens one) (OH! there's totally a cycling RPS one too somewhere... now that I MUST have bookmarked *goes looking*)

In other news my Rainbows have decided they would quite like us to have a Harry Potter night...

Well some of them would, some of them looked either blank or annoyed because they're not allowed to read the books. I have to admit I'm surprised quite so many 5 and 6 year olds do read them! Though I suppose most of their knowledge may well be film and/or pickd up without reading the originals.

After the discovery of a smaller group of VERY keen Mr Majeika fans and two girls who appreciate the genius that is The Worst Witch we seem to have come to the compromise of a "magic" evening. So that's something to plan for next term *g*
