Hello all, I've only just seen the final stage highlights from today but I'm pretty sure The Unbelievable Truth was worth missing it ♥
Obviously David Mitchell was a joy <3 but our guests were just BRILLIANT. We had Henning Wehn and Graeme Garden and Tony Hawks and Arthur Smith! And I absolutely do not ship Hennig/Tony now *coughs* (though to be fair everyone in the Shaw Theatre pretty much ships them now including the rest of the panellists and Tony and Hennig themselves...)
ANYWAY
Tour de France 2010- Stage Twenty (Longjumeau - Paris Champs-Elysees)
♥
That's it, that's really all I wanted out of this Tour! Cav winning on the Champs Elysee again I mean, or to be honest Cav winning a stage, and he got FIVE ♥ because he is faster than them all and nobody really even argues with that fact anymore because when he gets a run at the line he's just gone.
And maybe it wasn't quite like last year with Mark Renshaw and that HUGE gap but it was just as good, for one thing it's nice to know Cav can win with whichever bits of his eladout train are still around (Bernie and Tony this time <333)
And Petacchi got second so he's in Green but Cav getting Green always depended on other people having bad luck so I think that's fine.
And apparently there was this little race for the Yellow jersey but I don't think it can have been that serious because however fiercely they fought it didn't break up Alberto Contador and Andy Schleck's summer romance.
(no really, main rivals and I think they have to be the slashiest pair of the Tour just edging out Cav and Renshaw (I miss him in the bedroom <3) and Contador with Vino (and Contador's tendency to through himself at him after a stage... mostly they lose points because Vino :-/)
Maybe later I will do a summing up post. I think it was an interesing Tour and there are a bunch of things people are going to be talking about for a while yet (chaingate is never going to die is it?) but I'm really hopeful for next year actually with Andy and Alberto riding at this level and afew other younger guys coming up to at least compete for podium spots.
