Hello all, I've only just seen the final stage highlights from today but I'm pretty sure The Unbelievable Truth was worth missing it ♥

Obviously David Mitchell was a joy <3 but our guests were just BRILLIANT. We had Henning Wehn and Graeme Garden and Tony Hawks and Arthur Smith! And I absolutely do not ship Hennig/Tony now *coughs* (though to be ( Read more... )

CAV!!!!! CAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAV!!!!!!!!!!!

*ahem*

But OMG I LOVE him. His post-race interviews were a thing of beauty. "It's like [Zabel's] won 22." MEEP. There is no one else like him. He's SO invested. *hugs him forever*

HE DID IT! ♥

Not that I doubted him for a SECOND you understand *coughs* but he's just so much better than them all it's not surprising he occasionally gets a bit big for his boots but today? Today he wins EVERYTHING and I love that he cares so much, I will always and forever love that he cares <3

My parents happen to be in Paris and they said the finish was amazing.

It's quite a sight in person! I've only ever been once, 12 years ago, but the whole of the centre of Paris turns into cycling heaven *g* Im glad they enjoyed it!

Glossing over the cycling stuff because, well, I'm not good at understanding it. Road cycling, at least. (But that's okay, really - because it's not like I expect anyone to understand cricket. :D)

Mostly so that I can say: [premature posting, apparently *facepalms*] WHEN MITCHELL TWITTERED HIS GUESTS THIS MORNING I WAS INSTANLY *~ENVIOUS! I AM A LITTLE OBSESSED WITH HENNING WEHN THIS YEAR AND I WILL NEVER GET TO SEE HIM BECAUSE HARDLY ANYONE COMES TO THE NORTH-EAST!

I'm glad that it was awesome. Can't wait for the next series!

So I shouldn't admit I've actually never heard Henning before then? He's very good though! And apparently this series airs sometime towards the end of September.

Cavendish was amazing, so YAY to him and you.

That whole bit with Radioshack and the jerseys was weird, but I wonder if it was a deliberate provocation since I presume Lance and Johann et al KNOW exactly how anal the race officials can be.

I think I'd have a lot more sympathy with the whole "but it's for charity" thing if there were any suggestion Lanc or Radioshack had talked to the Tour organisers about this. They could have done, they could have asked permission and might have even got it (or at least to wear them in the neutral zone) but this way it just ended up looking like one more YAY LANCE BOO THE FRENCH pr thing *shrugs*

Especially as they let them wear them on the podium so they clearly weren't being that unrealistic or unkind.

Exactly. I really hope Lance's retirement sticks this time. I hate to be a vindictive wench, but somehow the fact that he didn't even win a stage gives me a delightful whiff of schadenfreude.
