It's been too long since I posted. HOLY COW! So I'm definitely going to need to sum up...
Summer Break:
Early in the Break Mike and I went to Los Angeles for the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship, for a short get away. We worked the Championship as they were taking volunteers to work. I helped to score and Mike was my mat coordinator. We made a great team and were welcomed back for next year. Kids took swim lessons all summer long. They are much closer to being swimmers. I wouldn't say they are yet but they are working on it. I went to a few activities during the summer, two writing retreats, and got a lot written in a short amount of time.
August:
Tanya and Chad had their first daughter... well, they have 3 other boys, (2 from Chad's first marriage). This is Tanya's second child. A beautiful baby girl! YAY! Baby Gemma... adorable little one. Got a chance to go and see her in the hospital and everything. Makes me almost want another. Almost.
I went on my first trip out of the country to Auto Assembly a Transformers Convention in the UK over my birthday. It was a great getaway and I had a ton of fun with all my recently found internet friends in the UK. Met some artists and writers and interviewed them while I was there too. One of the most memorable birthdays I've ever had. And I really solidified some great friendships.
Got back just in time for Alex to start school. First grade this year! And he's doing awesome!
September:
Ethan started Preschool... so we also started before hand potty training. And he's doing good... only have to work on getting him to do #2 in the toilet now because he really does have doing #1 in the toilet down! Night time still needs a little work but for the most part he's half broken in to being responsible for his bathroom runs.
September just seemed to flash before our eyes... I don't think we did a whole lot except just get kids to and from school all month, get into the routine that works for them.
October:
So far, we've had a good month. It came in with us taking a trip to Tucson to spend the weekend with my family and see little baby Gemma blessed. I think she's a keeper just like her brother.
Mike and I celebrated our 11th anniversary the same weekend. We went out to eat and saw a movie twice. Once the night before and then a second time in Tucson while my parents watched the grandkids. Justin and Adam, Chad's two older kid,s came down with them, so they had a hotel room full of kids. We came down early enough to go to the Zoo together and had fun there too. Then we hung out at Tanya's parents house the following day before and after the baby blessing! They are some of the nicest people we know. It's so awesome to be able to create bonds with people we aren't technically related to, but yet get along like family with. It doesn't always happen when two people fall in love and get married. We've been lucky to have that. And next time I go to the UK, I'll have some of them to visit!!
As for this week. Halloween. YAY! So far we've gone to one LAB Trunk or Treat party and plan on another before the month is out. And then this month will be over with. It just picks up speed. Darn huh? We are dressing up as Jedi again this year. We'll try and snap some pictures so we have something to remember it by. Next year we'll have to think of something else.
