New hard drive install and image restore went well. I was on my way by Monday. But even with all the software reinstalled I had to deal with

*corrupt outlook pst files
*multiple daily backups had to be tested and restored
*set up a weekly image backup - tested and restored
*fiddle with all the USB ports - matching USB 3.0 to USB 3.0 to make said ( Read more... )

Yesterday Shiro helped  me track down ants in the bedroom. It was all going well until the bathtub began gushing water and roaring for the daily bath.. I managed to stop him before he did battle with the Water Beast. While he was licking his paws dry on my lap, my stomach gurgled and he tried to fight off that dreaded Belly Beast too.

 Today Shiro climbed into the freezer and would not come out until I lured him with the Cat Dancer pole. He then raced around the room, sending his kibble flying across the carpet (and landing into his water bowl).  He also discovered the joy of sunbeams on the kitchen floor.  Face to face cat introductions went well. Yesterday there was a lot of hissing (by Sagwa) and jumping on the other cat's head (by Shiro) followed by more hissing (by Sagwa). We have a new cat in our home. He is 3 months old and his name is Shiro. It has been a long time since we've had such a young cat - we normally prefer older cats (because we are old and tired and sleepy people). Shiro (pronounced Sh-Hero)  is named after a cat that appeared in the Samurai Cat comics. You can see a drawing of him here.

 on some days I really hate people. our neighbors are nice enough if self-absorbed.
