Summary: Belle hears he'll be leaving.

He tells her he has the potion to allow him to cross the town line, to see Bae. She knows this means everything to him, that the curse he gave Regina was for this. She smiles, happy for him; yes, she'll see him to the town line. Yes, she'll wait for him although she wonders why there's enough for only one person.
Inside, her heart tears, breaks. She'll be left behind when he goes when she's only just found him. If she's not with him, she knows he'll find it hard to be good, be better than he thinks himself to be.
He turns his back and she stops the tears from welling although she cannot help a sniffle. Which he hears and turns back immediately.
“Are you all right?”
She nods, musters a smile. “Fine,” she tells him while her heart tears a little more. “Just a cold,” she assures. “Are you sure I can't come with you?”
“There's only enough for one.”
“Of course,” she nods. “I'll look forward to seeing him when he comes.”
“Will you, Belle?” He asks, brown eyes intent. “How can you be so sure?”
She places her hands on his chest. “He's your son,” she answers. “How can I not be sure?”
He relaxes under her hands and she smiles once more, to reassure. “When are you leaving?”
“Tonight, I think,” he replies absently.
Her smile falters but he doesn't see, looking away, to the ground. “That soon?”
He looks at her now, his hand on her shoulder. “I'll be quick, Belle,” he assures and she smiles at him while her heart falls.
“If you're fast, I won't have time to miss you,” she says and his lips quirk.
“That's,” he pulls her closer, “the plan.”
Her heart falls, and breaks.
