It's the final countdown...

Mom's showing signs of dying (I mean, REALLY DYING, as is ANY DAY NOW) . You'd be surprised how many symptoms one has when one is dying.

I see her laying in bed having conversations with some unseen person, gesturing with her hands as if trying to make a point.

She's got a slight "death gurgle" happening more and more when she sleeps (phlegm buildup in lungs and throat).

She's got glazed eyes that are teary in the corners and she spaces out into nothing (or everything...who know's what she's really seeing.)

She sleeps about 22 hours per day, then she's maybe up for 15-20 minutes. She's not eating as much any more and hardly drinking.

Her breathing is really funky. It's really fast, then really slow and quiet. I sometimes have to go right up to her to hear if she's still breathing. She also blows breaths through her lips, making a funny sound.

We are waiting for the 2 ultimate of dying symptoms: Purple feet and hands and coma.

Mom said yesterday she's only holding out for my brother David to arrive on Wednesday. In the meantime, we wait....

dying, mom
