Yuletide Blessings
The Yule season should be beautiful, but here there is no atmosphere and no weather to make it white and lovely. It is the Moon Castle, and even the Princess of Mercury has left off her mistress' studies for the day and is looking outside the window at the dusty landscape, the folds of her blue gown gathered in her hand.
"Mercury, everyone is ready to begin!" The impatient but friendly voice belongs to a dark-haired girl clad in a white gown and marked with a crescent moon on her forehead. Princess Serenity flashes an inviting smile at the other girl, beckoning her over. The room is even already decorated for the occasion, with garlands and hangings of holly with their red berries, or brighter glints of gold in a few strategic places.
Right now, Mars stays near the fire, talking to Venus who has goblets of hot mulled wine and cider waiting for the senshi and their princess. The smell of roasting chestnuts is Jupiter's doing as all three chatter to each other.
The blue-haired girl turns her head and smiles before offering a polite apology. "I was thinking how nice it would be if there were snow," she excuses herself. This earns her a chorus of excited agreement from the other girls as they look up from their work. And despite the lack of nearly everything that should make it possible, a dusting of white begins to fall from the sky, visible outside the window. Mercury gives the others a secretive, mischievous smile as they all begin to tease her for it.
