After taste-testing the result of the pickled garlic experiment, we were pleased. Recipe needs a little tweaking but overall, a good result. Homemade granola first attempt earlier this morning came out well, it makes a lot, but I like the stuff. Yay.

So today was my first attempt at making homemade applesauce. It turned out well, I used a mix of Golden Delicious, Gala, Crispin and Granny Smith. (I think the Crispin was in a bit worse shape than I'd thought, but all in all, a decent batch) I think next time I'll stick with a Golden Delicious and Gala mix, maybe throw in a Honeycrisp or two. So, we're at one of our favourite teppanyaki places for dinner, and 5 of the 10 people smooshed around the table (me and hubby included) order a filet and...whatever combo. So, I've been trying to eat healthier, cutting back on sugar and refined carbohydrates, but sometimes, you just want a goddam pizza and a beer. And I has one, bbq chicken and pineapple, paired with a Yuengling Black and Tan. *nom*

Well, sort of. I'm attempting to make my own pickles for the first time ever, using this recipe (will open to a video) from Alton Brown. We'll see how they taste in a day or two.
