Ya know, I sure am gonna miss these 4-day weeks and 3-day weekends I have right now! Never again in my life will I have such short weeks...well, except when I am retired :P Because tomorrow my weekend starts and I am so excited!
It hasn't been too interesting of a week. I've gotten quite a bit of work done, actually, although I've managed to spend a lot of time doing other less productive things too, hehe. Yesterday, Rebecca from my Drug Ed class and I went together to observe a health class at Clark Lane Middle School. The lesson was a really good one, actually, and the teacher was a very nice man. It was a good experience...and I must say I feel that I learned more from that one observation experience than I have from that entire class *groans*
Although Drug Ed was mildly amusing yesterday. We were discussing how to teach sex ed. Yes, we are college students...but we couldn't get through THAT topic straight-faced even at our maturity levels :P
I made it down to the gym today and had the best workout I've ever done on the treadmill. I went more miles faster and burned more calories than I ever have before going for the time that I did. It was exciting! I'm glad that I'm seeing the rewarding results of getting in shape, because hopefully it will keep me motivated not to lose it over the winter when I get too lazy to go out into the cold to the gym!
I guess I should enjoy having free access to a gym while I can...Sam and I were talking last night about post-graduation stuff. It seems to come up a lot when I hang out with him. Probably because he's counting down the days until graduation...if only I were that eager :P Anyway, he was saying he might buy his own treadmill because it would probably be cheaper in the long-run than joining a gym. I just think about how much stuff I take for granted now that I am not gonna have when I am (hopefully) living on my own and probably extremely poor :P I have had such a comfortable existence money-wise so far. The thought of having to budget carefully is hard for me. Yes, I know I'm spoiled...:P
Anyway, onto less frightening topics :P Today I tried doing a "running record" on Ashantee to determine if a certain book is at an instructional level for her. I thought the book would be perfect, but after doing the record, it turns out it isn't. She had too much trouble for the book to be appropriate, not to mention she didn't understand what was going on at all. I was a bit discouraged that the book was too hard for her. But it was good practice seeing how I can use a running record with a kid.
Tomorrow I go in to the Magnet School, speaking of kids! So I will be updating about that tomorrow.
For the record, I am sooooo fed up with this baseball mania around campus!!!!! I can't wait until the baseball season is OVER!!!! At least it didn't keep me awake either of the past two nights.
Can't wait til tomorrow evening :) A few of us are going out for Indian food for Cassie's birthday and then we're going to get drinks (Cassie's "first" drink, hehe) and then we're coming back here to do presents and stuff like that :) It's gonna be so fun!!! Yay!!
But first, gotta get through Cervantes class today, Magnet School tomorrow, and my film-of-the-week tomorrow afternoon. Class soon, so I'm off...!
