Locked comms. Do people on LJ have a right to lock a community and expect the people who are members to respect the privacy of that community?

Okay, that's fucked up! Why is this fandom so hateful of other ships? I just don't get it! It's called fanfic for a reason, you know? I love everything you just said and the whole hating Sauli thing gets on my nerves a little bit. I don't have any sort of interest in him at all because boyfriend's come and go like days, but to disrespect him or Adam or Tommy or Kris or hell, anybody, is just super wrong.

I remember when this fandom was about Adam's happiness and everyone liked who they liked, but it wasn't such a huge deal if you were a Kradam shipper or a Bradam shipper, or even an Atom/Adommy/Lambliff/Ratbert/whatevertheirnameis shipper. We all loved it and it was supportive!

Now it's full of hate! I just see it as being immature and I for one, am not getting into it. I'm here for Adam, his music and the joy he brings me.

Thanks for posting this.. I actually didn't know about the comm problem, but it's mess up all the same!

Hugs and kisses,
Tori<3333

Thanks for your comment bb! You are better off not knowing about the problem, believe me.

Everyone should just leave everyone else alone, in my opinion. Nannies shouldn't try to police how others think and they most certainly should not bully them. People are allowed to hate Sauli - or Tommy, for that matter - if they wish, as long as they don't bring it into the open. Don't harsh everyone's squee, so to speak.

My goal is to get back to enjoying my little corner of fanfic. :D

This fandom is supposed to be about music, fun and fiction. Some ppl have forgotten that we don't really know Adam, Sauli or Tommy. We see just bits of them. We don't know shit about how the relationship between Adam and Sauli really is and we should not care for this at all.

Don't get me wrong, I like Sauli, he seems to be a nice guy. But when he and Adam won't make it, it won't kill me. When they get married (if they ever be allowed to) it's fine for me too. I like to see them together and they seem to be happy. But what do I know?

I don't think we have the right to judge about their relationship. Because we don't know enough to be able to. But we are allowed to say what we think. And we don't need any kind of censorship on this fandom.

Well said - we see only bits of them. We don't know enough to judge the situation. We're not there, we're not them. Yet it's human nature to speculate. I have no problem with that, whether it be speculation that they'll stay together forever or break up or whatever.

RPF can be a really awkward thing, can't it? It's about the characters created by authors. And yet the real people are always there in the background, living their real lives. And since they are in the public eye, we see what they are doing. Strange!

Thanks <3

Yeah some ppl might confuse the real person with the fictional character. This leads to all those stupid fandom wars.

I am happy I am not in public eye. Ppl want to see more and more of the private life of stars. And they give way more away then it was usual a couple of years ago. It's the price of fame I guess, but still I don't want to know everything. Because it's also a part of being a fan not knowing everthing to be able to have a fantasy.

I'm so glad to NOT be famous! It's the price for success and money but I'd rather be a middle-class nobody. Good point that it's easier to have a fantasy when you do not know every detail of the celebrity's life. :D

MONTY!! *rushes to get the Monty-nets and catch her*

I have no idea what you're talking about, but it goes without saying that I agree with you, 100%.

How odd that I should hop into LJ (hardly ever here these days) and the first thing I see is your post *beams* Happy 2012 to you - may it be full of joy and may whoever is annoying you w.r.t. this post be ashamed of themselves.

*slothy hugs*

I couldn't agree more with this post. Everyone is free to hate someone, but don't broadcast it (especially not to people who really don't want to hear it). And then there's people who respond to that hate out there in the wrong way. They respond to the hate by bullying people because of their opinions. I think it's best to ignore it. Anyone who spreads the hate just to ruin someone else's flail just wants attention.

And I'm not really aware of what has been happening in these comms (which I'm pretty glad of), but I did see where someone posted Adam's address. I mean, there's boundaries, and that's crossing it.

I'm glad that, although there are some people who let this fandom down, there are lots more who make it a better place. You being one of them <3

That's nice of you to say but I'm far from perfect LOL. Nonetheless as you say there are so many people in the fandom who are awesome. Including yourself bb :DDDD

It's good to stay away from the wank. Ignoring it is best. But when someone I love gets bullied, I am only human - I get pissed off. I had to say something, but beyond this I'm just going back to ignoring it. Fandom is for fun and that's why we are here.

I'm one of those friends who have different opinions with you. I've never had one problem with you, and the one time I disagreed strongly, I said it to your face and even then, nicely. <3333 ( ... )

Different opinions are fine and I totally respect yours! I respect opinions that are stated rationally and thoughtfully, even if they are not the same as mine. You left the comm you didn't like, and that's the right thing for you to have done.

You did tell me off once to my face, and that was acceptable. <3 You didn't hide, you didn't scoff... you explained it nicely. I did go overboard that time and apologized for that. But nothing I've said since then, even when I thought it was private, is something I wouldn't back up. I'm responsible for my own words, and only my own. I also understand that the person who doesn't like to speculate and gossip is a rare human being. We are full of foibles. The locked comm is not the one that is spreading negativity - it's the one that is keeping it contained. Let it stay there. The nanny comm, OTOH, is freeing it for all to see - even Adam, even Sauli, if they like to trawl the internet for information about themselves. Oh, not to mention Tommy if he'd like to see some extra hate directed at him ( ... )

I never hide. I can't hide. I love and respect people too much to do that ( ... )

I save my hatred for people like George W. Bush. And even then I don't hate because that's giving him power. I DESPISE W.

Sauli I merely dislike. I know zilch about BB here in US or in Finland. I do think Sauli is involved in stupid shit, but that's his right. Adam is still dealing with fallout from becoming famous via a reality show, but to my mind at least that one is (supposedly) about talent. :D

People at the locked comm - to my knowledge - are not attempting to tell Adam what to do. That way lies madness. I can't even make my own family do what I think they should do hahaha. Well, actually sometimes I can. I've saved a few butts here and there in the fam.

I know you have wanted to defend your friends. Same here.
