you can acknowledge it and ask it to leave and go back from whence it came...

I'm beginning to feel weird about that bug. It followed the only things it knew to be good--light and the smell of food--and now it's being rewarded with starving to death by being trapped by a creature too cowardly to do more than listen to it scratch uncomprehendingly for days until it dies.

My mother disappeared, and I got sad. I had no reason to believe she was coming back! The brain I'm using is very new, and has not yet developed the means to expect that anything removed is capable of returning to this world. Then my body had this violent, anguished allergic reaction to the sadness in my soul. Very frustrating.

What if you don't believe in an afterlife, and you get there, and there's nothing there, but you're still conscious of it?
