The first day of my internship went well. I go back on Tuesday. My boss (Emily) is really cool, and the Editor (Bel) told me that I should be receiving feedback for a previous submission soon. Apparently I was shortlisted for the latest issue. Yay me! Obviously I didn't get in, but still. I'm pretty happy about it. You can read about the people I work with here if you feel like stalking. Their website is going to be updated soon. At the moment it's a bit eh. They had someone do it for free a few years ago and it's pretty behind the times. It was exciting just being there and having my own desk and all that. Everyone who works there is a writer/poet/journalist. And Emily said if there's anything I want to get involved with then just ask.

I'm pretty psyched I moved here. Aside from the obvious reason, I was stuck a bit with my writing at home and ever since I got here I've been writing everyday. Not tonnes, but enough to feel like I'm accomplishing something. I've abandoned the larger project and started on some short stories. I finished one of them a few days ago and I'm really pleased with it (which probably means that i'll hate it later).

Oh! And I took a tram to the city and back alone and survived! I DID walk in front of a car which was embarrassing, but other than that nothing happened. I was worried I'd get lost, but luckily Google Maps is my friend. Anyhoo, I should probably look for a paying job now.
