I saw Skyfall on the weekend. Holy crap. It actually lived up to they hype. I loved it. Go see it. I now have a huge crush on Judi Dench. I feel so disrespectful; she's one of the Grand Dames of British theatre (I've always liked her as an actor.) And the bisexual villian managed not to fall into bisexual villian tropes (just.)

The anesthetic has all worn off, and I have no further torture sessions scheduled. My jaw is a lot less sore this time, which is good. I keep intending to write about Paprika and not getting around to it. Paprika is an animated Japanese film from 2006. Nolan cited Paprika as an inspiration for Inception. Where Inception was basically a heist/action movie with a really neat framing device, Paprika is pure hallucinogenic sci-fi ( Read more... )

This is amazing. Animated graffiti, sound, and coding. Well worth a look if you're into arty things. The aesthetic kind of reminds me of Shaun Tan. Who is also awesome and worth a look.

I saw Holmes today, and I didn't hate it. I grew up reading the books; we had two volumes, one of the short stories and one of the novels, and when I was sick I'd read them cover to cover.
