This weekend just gone was the annual Thames Festival, which seems to get bigger and bigger every year. On Saturday, there was also the second Feast on the Bridge, where Southwark Bridge is closed off to traffic and turned into a banqueting area, with tables and chairs stretching the length of the bridge. On Wednesday night, it was off to the Cross Kings for a gig with Mr P. We walked down to King's Cross via Camden Road and Agar Grove, down through the industrial no-man's land that makes up the upper stretch of York Way. As we approached one of the Eurostar railway bridges, we suddenly spotted some red and white balloons floating on the skyline. ( Read more... )

On Tuesday night I went to see some bands at Cargo at a night put on by the people at Pineapple Folk. It's not a bad venue; I'd never been there before but it had a nice vibe and some surprisingly friendly bar staff, which is sadly something of a novelty at venues these days. The bands weren't bad, either.

So, despite a fairly crazy and punishing weekend, I think I am actually better. My appetite seems to have come back with a vengeance, after being all over the place for three weeks, and I'm not waking up with a swimmy head anymore. My ears are still ringing, though.
