After we tied in to town water last year, I figured the well could be used for outdoor watering and garden irrigation, depending on its condition, of course. The static water level is near its original 10’ from the cap, back from not being visible at all last autumn. We are now hooked up to town water! Happily, there is no aftertaste or chlorine odor from it :o)

Vacation ended and I’ve been back to work since Monday. I got lazy after discovering the rotted floor upstairs, but did manage to fix the leaky bath faucet and get another toilet installed. I got the garden mostly clear except for my August-planted peas...

Vacation week! This is the first stretch of days I'll have had off since my knee injury in March. I have lots I can do to prep for water, and for Winter. If my body holds out I may get some done.

Nothing yet, here, construction-wise. The Water Authority told me there were several steps and inspections to complete before applying for a meter, and the contractor is waiting for the local DPW to issue us a street-opening permit. On the plus side the Dig Safe people approved the road for digging (no gas or power lines underground), and the Water ( Read more... )

Hopefully we can get our water project underway this week. The contractor has most of the permits, and a check from us, and was painting the road out front for his crew. I have to go to the Water Authority on Monday and arrange for a meter. I am so tired of hauling water every day!
